Nachdem bei mir gestern abend die Cancellation eMail für den Sunset Campground im Kings Canyon reingekommen ist, kam dann heute die Closure Notification:
This is an important message from The National Recreation Reservation Service on behalf of your upcoming reservations a Sunset Campground.
We are sorry to inform you that Sunset Campground in the Grant Grove area of Kings Canyon National Park will remain closed until further notice due to unforeseen numbers of hazardous trees. The extended drought and impacts of insects have killed and damaged hundreds of trees in the campground, and the heavy winter delayed our ability to fully survey the campground for hazard. These trees pose a significant risk of failing unexpectedly, and tree failure can
result in severe injury or death. Until the trees can be cut down, Sunset Campground will remain closed. With these campground closures we need to cancel your reservation in Sunset Campground and provide a full refund. We apologize for the inconvenience and impact on your travel plans. Auf der "Check Availability" Seite des Campgrounds sind momentan alle Sites bis einschließlich 7. Juni 2017 zu.
