Hallo zusammen,

verschiedene Nationalparks in den USA fangen langsam an ganz oder in Teilen ihre Tore wieder zu öffnen.

Acadia National Park, Maine:

  • Open: Roads and trails, NPS store, restaurtant, visistor center with limited information services
  • Closed: Campgrounds, picnic areas

Wichtige Änderungen für 2020:

  • Campgrounds Seawall and Duck Harbor closed for the season
  • Island Explorer Bus Service postponed indefinitely for 2020
  • Entrance Passes are no longer available in the park. Buy and print your entrance pass online.

Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site, Pennsylvania

  • Open: Trails, Picnic Area, Staple Bend Tunnel daily from sunrise to sunset
  • Closed: Summit Level Visitor Center, Lemon House, Engine House 6

Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, Wisconsin:

  • Beaches and Mainland Lakeshore trail

Arches National Park, Utah:

  • Open: All park roads, trails, and restrooms are open
  • Closed: Arches Visitor Center, Devils Garden Campground

Assateague Island National Seashore, Maryland/Virginia:

  • Open: Recreational beaches  parking areas, and restrooms at North Beach, South Beach, Ferry Landing and Bayside Peninsula, as well as the Maryland District nature trails, Campgrounds
  • Closed: All Visitor Center

Badlands National Park, South Dakota:

  • Open: All roads, trails, and campgrounds in the north unit of the park, Ben Reifel Visitor Center
  • Closed: The entire South Unit of Badlands National Park, including the White River Visitor Center

Bandelier National Monument, New Mexico:

  • Open: Entrance Road, Pueblo Loop Trail, Frey and trails, Tyuonyi Overlook Trail, Mesa Top Parking Lot
  • Closed: Visitor Center, Tsankawi, Ponderosa and Juniper Campgrounds, Alcove House and the cavates, Bandelier Shuttle Bus System

Bent’s Old Fort National Historic Site, Colorado

  • Open: Park entrance road to permit parking on the grounds, the park landscape to visitors wishing to hike the park trails, and public restrooms
  • Closed: Fort Building

Bering Land Bridge National Preserve, Alaska:

  • Serpentine Hot Springs Bathhouse

Big Bend National Park, Texas:

Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area, Tennessee and Kentucky:

  • Open: Trails and backcountry camping open. Campgrounds at Bandy Creek and Blue Heron. Alum Ford Campground on a first come, first serve basis
  • Closed: Restroom facilities, Charit Creek Lodge and visitor centers

Biscayne National Park, Florida:

  • Open: from 9 am to sunset at the most points
  • Closed: Visitor Center and camping

Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, Colorado:

  • Open: South Rim Drive, North Rim Drive and all viewpoints. South Rim Campground, North Rim Campground, East Portal Road and Campground
  • Closed: South Rim Visitor Center

Blue Ridge Parkway, Virginia/North Carolina:

  • Open:Parkway road, trails, and all other sections of the motor route in North Carolina and Virginia previously accessible to motor vehicle traffic.
  • Closed: Visitor centers, Picnic areas, campgrounds and backcountry sites

Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah:

  • Open: All roads, trails, and viewpoints, Sunset Campground, Visitor Center
  • Closed: North Campground, Vehicles 20’ (6m) and longer are restricted from parking in some Bryce Amphitheater locations

Buffalo National River, Arkansas: 

  • Open: Overnight stays, including campgrounds and backcountry camping as well as the RV dump stations
  • Closed: All visitor centers and the shower facilities at campgrounds

Canaveral National Seashore, Florida:

  • Open: From noon until 8 p.m., though there may be limits on parking and restroom access
  • Closed: Visitor Center and all facilities, backcountry camping

Cane River Creole National Historical Park, Louisiana:

  • Open: Access to the grounds of Oakland Plantation and Magnolia Plantation and Self-guided tours
  • Closed: All historic buildings, including interiors and all public restrooms

Canyonlands National Park, Utah:

  • Open: All park roads, trails, and restrooms, backcountry permits for Canyonlands are available
  • Closed: All visitor centers and park stores, Willow Flat Campground at Island in the Sky district and Needles Campground in The Needles district of Canyonlands.

Cape Cod National Seashore, Massachusetts:

  • Open: Seashore beaches, trails, and parking areas are open
  • Closed: all restrooms, coast guard shuttle and lifeguards, visitor centers

Cape Lookout National Seashore, North Carolina:

  • Open: Harkers Island Visitor Center, Keepers' Quarters Museum, Portsmouth Village Visitor Center till August 1, restrooms, trails, Great Island Cabin Camp
  • Closed: Cape Lookout Lighthouse, Light Station Visitor Center, Beaufort Visitor Information Center, Long Point Cabin Camp

Capitol Reef National Park, Utah:

  • Wieder komplett geöffnet

Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site, North Carolina:

  • Open: recreational access to park trails, most grounds, and parking lots. 
  • Closed: The house, barn and barnyard, restrooms, and other structures, water fountains, Sandburg Home tours, all volunteer shifts, and all summer public programs, festivals, plays, and other special events are either closed or suspended.

Casa Grande Ruins National Monument, Arizona:

  • Open: Compound A, and the picnic area Tuesday through Saturday during the hours of 9 am until 4 pm. Compound A is the area normally opened to the public for visitation which includes the Great House and visible ruins immediately surrounding the Great House
  • Closed: The visitor center and all public access to the monument on Sundays and Mondays, All programs and guided tours

Chamizal National Memorial, Texas:

  • Open: Park grounds, Comfort station, Picnic areas, Roads, Trails
  • Closed: Visitor center

Channel Islands National Park, California:

  • Open: the park islands continue to be accessible for day and overnight visitsat approximately 40 percent capacity due to COVID-19 precautions.
  • Closed: Scorpion Anchorage on Santa Cruz Island and the mainland visitor center in Ventura Harbor are closed due to construction

Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, Georgia:

  • Open: All park trails, picnic areas, parking areas and river access
  • Closed: Comfort stations and the Island Ford Visitor Center

Chickasaw National Recreation Area, Oklahoma:

  • Open: All roads and trails, Day use areas, Campgrounds:Buckhorn, The Point, Rock Creek
  • Closed: The Travertine Nature Center, including parking and restrooms, Southeast Perimeter Road, Following Campgrounds: Cold Springs, Central, Guy Sandy

Colorado National Monument, Colorado:

  • Rim Rock Drive and overlooks along the road and all hiking trails
  • Saddlehorn Visitor Center will be open 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. daily. Information from NPS staff will be available outside the visitor center
  • The Devil’s Kitchen Picnic area, Saddlehorn Picnic Area
  • Cold Shivers Overlook, Rim Rock Drive, All hiking trails 
  • Saddlehorn Campground open. Reservations accepted at www.recreation.gov.
  • The exhibit area and theater will remain closed

Congaree National Park South Carolina:

  • Open: The park’s backcountry, which includes South Cedar Creek Canoe Landing, Bannister Bridge Canoe Landing, the Cedar Creek Canoe Trail, Kingsnake Trail, Bates Ferry Trail, Fork Swamp Trail, Oakridge Trail, and River Trail.
  • Closed: The park’s frontcountry, which includes campgrounds, Harry Hampton Visitor Center, the Boardwalk, Bluff Trail, Longleaf Trail, Sims Trail and Weston Lake Loop Trail

Cowpens National Battlefield, South Carolina:

  • Open: Loop Road and the restrooms
  • Closed: Visitor center and all programms

Crater Lake National Park, Oregon:

  • Open: The park is open 24 hours a day. Some winter road closures are still in effect, Mazama Campground
  • Closed: Visitor centers, Lost Creek Campground

Cumberland Gap National Historical Park, Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky:

Cumberland Island National Seashore, Georgia:

  • Open: Visitor Centers, Ice House Museum, all roads and trails
  • Closed: Mainland Museum 

Curecanti National Recreation Area, Colorado:

  • Open: all roads and trails, Blue Mesa, Morrow and Crystal Reservoirs, Campgrounds: Elk Creek, Lake Fork, Stevens Creek, Ponderosa
  • Closed: Elk Creek Visitor Center, Campgrounds: Red Creek, Dry Gulch, Cimarron and East Elk Creek

  • All group campsites are closed for the season.
  • Cimarron Campground is closed for the season for a major water system project

Death Valley National Park, California/Nevada:

  • Open: roads, trailheads, restrooms, and overlooks, Campgrounds: Furnace Creek, Thorndike, Mahogany Flats, Wildrose, Emigrant, Homestake Dry Camp, Eureka, and Saline Valley, all warm springs
  • Closed: visitor centers, Texas Springs, Sunset, and Stovepipe Wells campgrounds, Scotty’s Castle Road

Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, New Jersey, Philadelphia:

  • Open: Only a few trails
  • Closed:  Visitor center, all campgrounds and most of the trails
  • No park bus shuttle system in 2020

Denali National Park, Alaska:

  • Denali Implements Private Vehicle Access for Park Road
  • Road Permit will be available through www.recreation.gov
  • All other Information about the Private Vehicle Access at nps.gov 
  • The Denali Visitor Center will operate daily from 9 am to 5 pm until September 23 
  • The Eielson Visitor Center will operate daily until September 22. Daily hours to be determined
  • Narrated tour and transit bus service. Once schedules are finalized in early June, reservations will be available through http://www.reservedenali.com. Initial plans are to operate buses at 50% capacity to allow for social distancing. 
  • Sanctuary River and Igloo Creek Campgrounds will open with bus service. Reservations can be made at http://www.reservedenali.com.

Wichtige Änderungen für 2020:

  • The Murie Science and Learning Center will not open this summer
  • The sled dog kennels will likely be closed to visitors this summer
  • Wonder Lake campground may not open for 2020

Devils Tower National Monument, Wyoming:

  • Open: Park roads, hiking trails, picnic area, and rock climbing routes
  • Closed: Belle Fourche Campground, Visitor center and all other park buildings

Dinosaur National Monument, Utah/Colorado:

  • Open: All roads and trails, developed campgrounds at Split Mountain, Green River, Echo Park, Deerlodge Park, and Gates of Lodore
  • Closed: visitor centers and Dinosaur Quarry Exhibit Hall

Dry Tortugas National Park, Florida:

  • Wieder normal geöffnet

Effigy Mounds National Monument, Iowa:

  • Open: Hiking trails are open daily from dawn to dusk
  • Closed: Visitor center

El Malpais National Monument, New Mexico:

  • Open: All trailheads, Restrooms located along Highways 53, Big Tubes Area, Acoma-Zuni Trail, Lava Falls, and the Sandstone Bluffs Overlook
  • Closed: Visitor centerand caves

Everglades National Park, Florida:

  • Entry fees are waived
  • Main park road from the Homestead entrance to Flamingo
  • External restrooms at the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center, Flamingo Marina and boat launch ramps
  • Flamingo Day Use area including Marina Store, restrooms, and gas pumps
  • Flamingo Fish Cleaning Station and restroom, Canoe, kayak and skiff rentals at Flamingo
  • Chekika Day Use Area (roads and surrounding areas only)
  • Marine waters of Everglades National Park, beach campsites in wilderness.
  • Royal Palm, Research Road, West Lake
  • Long Pine Key picnic area and Trails, Guy Bradley Trail, Coastal Prairie Trail,  Anhinga Trail 
  • Commerical services (e.g., guided tours)  on a reduced capacity basis.
  • Shark Valley and Gulf Coast visitor areas reopen. 
  • Backcountry wilderness camping is open

Fire Island National Seashore, New York:

  • Open: All boardwalks, trails and beaches open.
  • Closed: Visitor centers, Lighthouse Road and lighthouse, Watch Hill Campground

Flight 93 National Memorial, Pennsylvania

  • All open from sunrise to sunset

Florissant Fossil Beds, Colorado:

  • Open: Hornbek Homestead and Barksdale Picnic Area parking lots. All 14 miles of trails.
  • Closed: Visitor Center, visitor center parking lot, picnic area near vistior center, all restrooms

Fort Donelson National Battlefield, Kentucky/Tennessee: 

  • Open: All park lands of Fort Donelson, during normal operating hours, park roads and trails for pedestrian use, river overlook and artillery batteries open.
  • Closed: Visitor center, historic Dover Hotel and Carriage House

Fort Frederica National Monument, Georgia:

  • Open: Park grounds, restrooms, park bookstore (2-person capacity) and museum (20-person capacity)

Fort Laramie National Historic Site, Wyoming.

  • Open: Grounds and trails from sunrise to sunset, Visitor contact stations
  • Closed: Visitor Center, Specific historic structures and restrooms

Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Site, Maryland:

  • Open: Access to grounds and parking lot for recreational visitors. Park gates will open at 9 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. 
  • Closed: Star Fort, visitor center, and restrooms

Fort Necessity National Battlefield, Pennsylvania

  • Open: Fort Grounds and Battlefield, Trails, Picnic Area, Parking areas, Visitor Center (9 am - 5 pm), Jumonville Glen Unit, Braddock Grave Unit.
  • Closed: Mount Washington Tavern, Playground Area at Fort Necessity Visitor Center, Theater in Fort Necessity Visitor Center

Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Park, South Carolina:

  • Open: Trails and Grounds, Entrance Road, Parking Lots, Gallatin House Visitor Center (9am to 5pm), Restrooms in Gallatin House and at main parking lot.
  • Closed: Theater in Gallatin House

Gateway Arch National Park, Missouri:

  • Open: Gateway Arch National Park grounds, Gateway Arch Visitor Center, Museum, Arch Cafe and Arch Store, Tram Ride to the Top
  • Closed: Old Courthouse

George Washington Carver National Monument, Missouri: 

  • Carver Trail, open 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., picnic area, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., public restrooms, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

George Washington Memorial Parkway, Virginia:

  • Access to parking areas and restrooms along the parkway. Parking areas at Great Falls Park open at 50 percent capacity. 
  • Parking areas at Theodore Roosevelt Island, Gravelly Point (no parking allowed on overflow grass area), Fort Hunt Park, Jones Point Park, Collingwood Picnic Area, Riverside Park, Belle Haven Park, and Fort Marcy.

Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, Alaska:

  • Open: Bartlett Cove Campground, park store
  • Closed for 2020: Glacier Bay Lodge, visitor center and Huna Tribal House

Glacier National Park, Montana:

  • Open: Going-to-the-Sun Road from the west entrance to Logan Pass, limited trails and some restrooms. Camas Road and the North Fork. Day use only, Fish Creek Campground
  • Closed: The east side of the park from the Continental Divide to the park boundary is closed to all access. Visitor centers and ranger stations as well as campgrounds and all other overnight accommodations.

Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Utah/Arizona:

  • All boats will be allowed to launch at the Lake Powell main launch ramps at Bullfrog, Wahweap. Halls Crossing and Stateline
  • Public restrooms on those launch ramps are also open
  • Lone Rock Beach Primitive Campground open

Grand Canyon National Park - North Rim, Arizona:

  • Open for day use.
  • The campground is closed for construction until July 1.

Grand Canyon National Park - South Rim, Arizona:

  • Tuweep open for day use access
  • Day hiking on inner canyon trails and existing backcountry permits for hikers camping overnight will be honored. No new overnight camping permits for the inner canyon will be issued. 
  • South Rim's south entrance is open 24/7
  • Mather Campground open for existing reservations only 
  • Colorado River commercial, noncommercial and administrative trips until further notice.
  • Closed: Shuttle buses are not operating, visitor centers and the museum, Hermit Road is closed to cars. East Entrance to the park at Desert View, and the Desert View Watchtower area

Grand Portage National Monument, Minnesota:

  • Open: Mount Rose Trail, Grand Portage Trail, Historic buildings
  • Closed: Heritage Center

Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming:

  • Closed: Lehman Caves Visitor Center, Wheeler Peak Campground

  • Wheeler Peak Campground will be closed for the entire 2020 season
  • All ranger programs and cave tours have been cancelled

Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve, Colorado:

  • Open:  All roads, trails and picnic areas, all campgrounds
  • Closed: Visitor Center interior exhibits, restrooms, and the Western National Parks Association park store

Great Smoky Mountains National Park, North Carolina / Tennessee:

  • Open: Most roads, all trails, visitor centers and campgrounds
  • Closed: Campgrounds at Abrams Creek, Balsam Mountain, Big Creek, Cataloochee, and Cosby

Gulf Islands National Seashore in Florida and Mississippi: 

  • Most of the seashore and Ship Island has reopened, except Fort Barrancas Area

Haleakalā National Park, Hawaii:

  • Areas are accessible to the public Monday-Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm:
  • The Summit District from the park entrance to the summit at 10,023 ft. elevation
  • Headquarters Visitor Center public restrooms at 7,000 feet (the visitor center building remains closed)
  • Haleakalā Visitor Center public restrooms at 9,740 feet (the visitor center building remains closed)
  • Hosmer Grove Trail, Leleiwi Overlook Trail, Pā Ka‘oao (White Hill) Trail
  • Park entrance fees continue to be temporarily waived

Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, Hawaii:

  • Mauna Loa Road to Kipukapuaulu for vehicles, bicyclists and hikers, including Tree Molds. The picnic area remains closed. 
  • Mauna Loa Road past Kipukapuaulu is open for hikers and bicyclists to Mauna Loa Overlook at 6,662 feet, but is closed to vehicles. 
  • Footprints Trail from Hwy. 11 to the Ka‘u Desert Trail and Mauna Iki Trail junction, including the Footprints shelter (1.9 miles one way). 
  • Escape Road, for bicycling, horseback riding and hiking to the Mauna Ulu junction.

Herbert Hoover National Historic Site, Iowa:

  • Open: Historic Buildings, Grounds, Trails, and Paths
  • Closed: Visitor center

Horseshoe Bend National Military Park, Alabama:

  • Open: Outdoor access to the tour road, trails, and boat launch
  • Closed: Visitor center, restrooms, and picnic area.

Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas:

  • Open: Park's trails, roads, and thermal and cold-water fountains, visitor services on the front porch of the Fordyce Bathhouse, Restrooms at the top of Hot Springs Mountain, Gulpha Gorge day use area, Concession services operating in bathhouses and the Mountain Tower, are open for limited services, Gulpha Gorge Campground
  • Closed: Fordyce Bathhouse and Museum

Hovenweep National Monument, Utah:

  •  Open: Roads, trails, and restrooms
  • Closed: Visitor Center and campground

Indiana Dunes National Park, Indiana:

  • Wieder normal geöffnet

Isle Royale National Park, Michigan:

  • Mit Ausnahme von North Desor Campground und Minong Trail wieder normal geöffnet

Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, Louisiana:

  • Open: Grounds at the Acadian Cultural Center in Lafayette, Chalmette Battlefield and Chalmette National Cemeteryand Wetlands Acadian Cultural Center
  • Closed: All buildings at all park sites including visitor centers and restrooms, The Barataria Preserve, including trails, is completely closed to visitors.

Jewell Cave National Monument, South Dakota:

  • Open: Only surface trails are open
  • Closed: Visitor center, cave tours suspended during construction along Scenic Tour route

John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, Oregon:

  • Open: Outdoor spaces of the three units of the park: Sheep Rock, Painted Hills, and Clarno.
  • Closed: The Thomas Condon Paleontology and Visitor Center and the Painted Hills contact station

Johnstown Flood National Memorial, Pennsylvania

  • Open: The Lake View Visitor Center is open daily from 9 AM- 5 PM. Park grounds are open daily from sunrise to sunset.
  • Closed: Lake View Visitor Center theater

Joshua Tree National Park, California:

  • Open: Der Park ist wieder komplett geöffnet aber alle Campgrounds sind auf fcfs Basis bis 04. September 2020
  • Closed: Jumbo Rocks Campground will be temporarily closed due to bee activity.

Katmai National Park, Alaska:

  • Brooks Camp will return with limited services for day use

Kenai Fjords National Park, Alaska

  • Open: Most parts of the park are open
  • Closed: Exit Glacier Campground

Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, Georgia:

  • Access returned to all park trails, the overflow parking lot, visitor center parking lot, Burnt Hickory road parking lot, Gilbert road parking area, Cheatham Hill drive, and Cheatham Hill road parking.

Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Nevada: 

  • Open: all roads, campgrounds and most trails
  • Closed: Lake Mead Visitor Center, Saddle Cove, Goldstrike Canyon, White Rock Canyon, Arizona Hot Spring, Liberty Bell Arch and Lone Palm Trail (all until Sept. 30)

Lake Meredith National Recreation Area, Texas: 

  • Open: Overnight camping at all primitive and developed campgrounds
  • Closed: visitor center

Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area, Washington: 

  • Open: Boat launches are open as water levels allow; docks at Kettle Falls, Seven Bays, and Spring Canyon boat launches
  • Closed: Visitor Center and campgrounds

Lassen Volcanic National Park, California:

  • Wieder normal geöffnet

Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site, Arkansas:

  • Visitor center (daily, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. with limited services), no more than 10 visitors will be allowed inside visitor center at any time; exhibits open, but the park film will be shown only upon request; limited informal programming on park grounds.
  • The outdoor Commemorative Garden and Elizabeth Eckford Commemorative Bench are open.

Mammoth Cave National Park, Kentucky:

  • Open: Surface trails, self-guided cave tours of the upper Historic section and Campgrounds, Green River Ferry
  • Closed: Visitor Center, Cave Tours 

Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado:

  • Open: all roads, trails and campgrounds
  • Closed: Research & Visitor Center, Chapin Mesa Archeological Museum, Wetherill Mesa

Minuteman Missile National Historic Site, South Dakota:

Montezuma Castle National Monument, Arizona:

  • Open: Outside trails and picnic areas.

Morristown National Historical Park, New Jersey:

  • Closed: Lincoln Borglum Visitor Center

Natchez Trace Parkway, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi:

  • Open: Roads, trails, pullouts, and roadside exhibits, Parkway Visitor Center, Both Comfort Stations at Colbert Ferry, Rocky Springs and Jeff Busby campgrounds for self-contained camping only
  • Closed: All remaining comfort stations, Meriwether Lewis Campground and Contact Station, Mount Locus

Natural Bridges National Monument, Utah:

  • Open: Roads, trails, and restrooms
  • Closed: Visitor Center and campground

New River Gorge National River, West Virginia.

  • Open: All hiking trails
  • Closed: Visitor center, All campgrounds and some restrooms

Ninety Six National Historic Site, South Carolina:

  • Open: Trails open 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Closed: Visitor facilities

North Cascades National Park Complex, Washington:

  • Open: Most roads, all trails and campgroounds, Hozomeen (U.S. side), Stehekin marina and public docks
  • Closed: All visitor centers and the international border gate, Cascade River Road due to weather conditions

Obed National Wild and Scenic River, Tennessee:

  • Open: The Rock Creek Campground has reopened. Reservations can be made at www.recreation.gov
  • Closed: Visitor Center

Olympic National Park, Washington:

  • The Lake Crescent area is open for day use recreation. Lake Crescent Lodge is open but offering takeout services only.
  • Sol Duc Road is open to vehicles for day use recreation.
  • The North Shore Road, July Creek Picnic Area in Quinault and Staircase area are open for day use recreation
  • All coastal areas and all overnight camping as well as all public facilities including visitor centers and ranger stations remain closed.
  • Detailed Information

Outer Banks of North Carolina, North Carolina:

  • Restrooms at the Fort Raleigh Visitor Center, Wright Brothers pavilion, Cape Hatteras beach and sound-side parking areas and visitor centers (visitor centers will not be open).
  • Camping, with limited capacity will be available at Cape Hatteras campgrounds; however, campsite reservations and payments will only be available online. Staff will not be available to take payment at the campground and site availability will be limited - campers must use www.recreation.gov for making campground reservations and payments.
  • Trash services in some locations only - everyone is encouraged to "pack it in, pack it out" as trash service will remain limited.
  • Lifeguard services at Coquina Beach, Cape Hatteras Lighthouse Beach, Frisco Beach, and Ocracoke Beach.

Ozark National Scenic Riverways, Missouri:

  • Park concession operations and outfitters will be authorized to open for business at their discretion, as they are able to meet CDC guidelines
  • Camping on gravel bars while engaging in multi-day floats and dispersed camping along the Ozark Trail while engaging in multi-day hikes will be allowed
  • The spring branch hiking trails at Big Spring and Alley Spring will reopen, as well as the staircase into Devils Well  
  • All picnic pavilions and group campsites

Padre Island National Seashore, Texas: 

  • Open: Day-use only on all beaches
  • Closed: Visitor Center, Malaquite Campground, Bird Island Basin Campground, shower facilities

Palo Alto Battlefield National Historical Park, Texas:

  • Open: Park Roads, Parking Lots, Trails, & Picnic Areas
  • Closed: Visitor Center & Restrooms

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Michigan: 

  • Open: All campgrounds, beaches, overlooks, trails, and scenic sites are available for recreating
  • Closed: Visitor Centers

Pinnacles National Park, California:

  • Open: from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m, all trails and most roads, the campground remains open to campers with existing reservations
  • Closed: Nature and Visitor Centers, shuttle services, cave trails, the park road past the campground

Pipe Spring National Monument, Arizona:

  • Open: Access to the parking lot and restroom, as well as to the 40-acre monument grounds and hiking trail
  • Closed: Visitor Center and museum, the Zion Forever bookstore, and the interior of Winsor Castle

Pipestone National Monument, Minnesota:

  • Open: Public access to outdoor spaces including the Circle Trail, quarries, Three Maidens, and picnic area.
  • Closed: Visitor Center

Pu'ukoholā Heiau National Historic Site, Hawaii:

  • Open: open air lanai area at visitor center daily 7:30am-5:00pm
  • Closed: Indoor museum and store

Redwood National and State Parks, California:

  • Open: Most roads, trails and campgrounds
  • Closed: All visitor centers

Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado:

  • The park reopened with staff monitoring visitors' behavior to determine which areas remain open and how many people will be allowed in the park.
  • The park implements areservation system. The first reservation window will run from June 4 through July 31. Reservations will go on sale through www.recreation.gov at 8 a.m. Mountain Time
  • The next release will be on July 1, for the month of August and any remaining days that have not been booked for July
  • On August 1, reservations will be available for the month of September and any remaining days that have not been booked for August.
  • On September 1, reservations will be available for the month of October and any remaining days in September that have not been booked.

  • Only Moraine Park and Glacier Basin campgrounds will partially open with approximately half of the campsites available for reservations.

Sagamore Hill National Historic Site, New York:

  • Open:Park grounds, walking paths and trails, parking areas
  • Closed: All Buildings and public restrooms,

Saguaro National Park, Arizona:

Rincon Mountain District (east):

  • Open: All roads and trails are open
  • Closed: Visitor Center and restrooms are closed. Water is available on the patio in front of the Rincon Mountain Visitor Center.

Tucson Mountain District (west):

  • Open: All roads and trails are open
  • Closed: The Red Hills Visitor Center and all park restrooms. Water is available on the patio of the Red Hills Visitor Center. Golden Gate Road is closed to vehicle traffic east of Sendero Esperanza trailhead and has been converted into a multi-use trail suitable for hikers, bicycles

Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site, Colorado:

  • Ranger talks have resumed at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Monument Hill.

Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, California:

  • Open: Roads, trails, restrooms, and picnic areas, some Markets, Camping at Potwisha, Lodgepole, and Sunset campgrounds with reservations only
  • Closed: All campgrounds in the parks, Visitor centers, bookstores, ranger stations and wilderness permit stations. 

Wichtige Änderungen für 2020:

  • The Sequoia Shuttle will not be in operation this summer
  • Lodgepole visitor center will not be open this summer season due to renovation project delays
  • All camping for the 2020 summer season will require a reservation made prior to visiting through www.recreation.gov. No new camping reservations are being accepted. No walk-up camp sites will be available this summer.
  • Reservations for overnight wilderness permits will be required ahead of park entry, no walk-up permits will be available this summer. No wilderness permit stations will be open.
  • Bear canister rentals may not be available in the parks but continue to be required in many areas.

Shenandoah National Park, Virginia:

  • Open: The entire park is open, Campgrounds and Picnic Grounds at a limited capacity
  • Closed: Dickey Ridge Visitor Center, Massanutten Lodge, and Rapidan Camp historic structures

Shiloh National Military Park, Tennessee/Mississippi:

  • Wieder komplett geöffnet

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Michigan:

  • Open: All hiking trails and trailheads, picnic areas, parking areas, boat launches, the Dune Climb; and vault toilets, most roads
  • Closed: Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, Maritime Museum and South Manitou Island museums

Stones River National Battlefield, Tennessee:

  • Open: Most roads, trails and picnic areas
  • Closed: Visitor center

Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, Kansas.

  • Open: All hiking trails
  • Closed: Visitor Center and historic buildings

Theodore Roosevelt National Park, North Dakota: 

  • Open: All trails and trailheads within park boundaries, all roads in the North and South Unit picnic areas, backcountry camping and the Elkhorn Ranch Unit
  • Closed: Visitor Centers, all established campgrounds .

Timpanogos Cave National Monument, Utah:

  • Open: Timpanogos Cave trail, all park restrooms are open and rangers will be available for safety and visitor assistance. 
  • Closed: Visitor Center

Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve in Florida:

  • Open: Trails and boat ramps, including trails at Theodore Roosevelt Area, Spanish Pond and Cedar Point
  • Closed: Fort Caroline National Memorial and Kingsley Plantation

Tonto National Monument, Arizona: 

  • Open: Access along the entrance road, viewing areas from the visitor center parking lot.
  • Closed: Visitor Center, Lower Cliff Dwelling, Lower & Upper Cliff Dwelling Trail, Picnic Area, including restrooms

Tuzigoot National Monument, Arizona:

  • Open: Outside trails and picnic areas.
  • Closed:

Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, Missouri:

  • Bis auf das Historic Winter Kitchen wieder komplett geöffnet

Virgin Islands National Park, U.S. Virgin Islands:

  •  Open: Trails, beaches, parking areas, and waters
  • Closed: Visitor center, Programs are cancelled, Food service, watersports and rentals at Trunk Bay are closed

Voyageurs National Park in Minnesota:

  • Open: All roads, trails and picnic sites, overnight tent camping and houseboat mooring sites, King Williams Narrows Campground, Mukooda Campground
  • Visitor centers: Open 2 days a week on a rolling system

Wilson's Creek National Battlefield, Missouri:

  • Open: Tour road, battlefield, trails

Wind Cave National Park, South Dakota:

  • Open: Roads and trails
  • Closed: Visitor center and Elk Mountain Campground. Elevators remain out of commission, so no cave tours.

Whiskeytown National Recreation Area,California

  • Open: Most roads and trails, Visitor center from Thursday through Sunday, most campgrounds
  • Closed: South Fork Mountain Road, Brandy Creek Road, Mill Creek Road

Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve, Alaska:

  • Open: Trails within the Kennecott Mines National Historic Landmark, Erie Mine Trail, the Root Glacier Trail, the Bonanza Mine Trail, and the Jumbo Mine Trail within the national historic landmark.

Yellowstone National Park

  • The park will remain day-use only. Limited overnight accommodations will begin reopening later in June
  • All entrances open
  • Visitors will be able to access restrooms, self-service gas stations, trails and boardwalks, and other Phase 2 facilities that are prepared to open.
  • Access to services/facilities (including restrooms, self-service gas stations, trails/boardwalks, limited stores, entrance stations, medical clinics, approved tours)
  • Some takeout food services
  • COVID-19 REOPENING PLAN

Yosemite National Park, California:

  • Open to the public only on a limited number of visitors (1,700 vehicle passes will be issued daily)
  • Day use vehicle reservations only
  • Visitors with a camping or concession-operated lodging reservation, wilderness or Half Dome permit, vacation rental inside the park, and visitors entering via the Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System or with a tour from one of the local businesses that have commercial use authorizations will not require a day use reservation for park entry and will also have access to the park
  • Only Upper Pines Campground (50% capacity) open

Zion National Park, Utah:

  • Zion National Park will continue be open for day use, during daylight hours only
  • Shuttles will not be operating
  • Once private vehicles take up all parking spots, the canyon will be closed to traffic until vehicles leave.

  • Zion Lodge is open with limited services.

danke für die Arbeit. Hast du dazu einen Link, oder alles mit viel Mühe selbst zusammengetragen?

Mit entsprechendem Link könnten wir das in "Aktuelles" oder ganz oben anpinnen. Auch wenn derzeit nur sehr wenige reisen, ist es doch vielleicht ein gutes Gefühl, mitzuverfolgen, wie auch dort wieder so etwas ähnliches wie Normalität einkehrt.

Pferdefuß an der ganzen Sache, sofern du keinen Link dafür hast: Das ändert sich vermutlich genauso schnell wie vieles Andere im Zusammenhang mit Corona. Sprich, der Pflegeaufwand wäre enorm.

Hi Elli,

die Links oben gehen auf die jeweiligen Nationalparks. Leider gibt es beim NPS keine zentrale Seite wo das alles zusammen aufgeführt wird, nur die etwas ungenauen Angaben die beim NPS immer stehen. Da sieht man dann schon was sich ändert, für Details muss dann aber dennoch auf den lokalen Parkseiten genauer geschaut werden.

Aber ich bekomme regelmäßig Updates von Leuten die das ganze zusammentragen. Könnte ich also pflegen.

Wer für einen bestimmten Park sucht was sich dort jeweils ändert findet das in jedem Park an der gleichen Stelle unter:

Passt nicht genau unter die Überschrift, ich fand es aber so interessant, dass ich es gerne hier ins Forum stellen möchte:

Man kann je Staat und je County die aktuellen Zahlen zu den Infektionen finden und die Entwicklung sehen. 

Allerdings viel noch in Beta Status...

Hallo Jörg,

vielen Dank, wir zählen ja auch zu denjenigen, die in diesem Jahr noch eine USA Reisen gebucht haben. Da wird wahrscheinlich nichts draus, wenn doch sind deine Infos sehr hilfreich. Die Karte ist sehr interessant, mich wundert, warum Arizona "rot" ist, bei der Hitze verschwindet das Virus doch auf wundersame Weise.
